Creating Content on the Canvas

Each ruum comes with a canvas, an open space for content to be collaboratively created, edited, and displayed. Canvas changes are automatically saved, too.

Creating Content

Ruum's open and interactive canvas allows you to add and format text, insert tasks, upload files and attachments, and more.

To get started, you can type anywhere on the canvas and then format that text as needed:

You can also click anywhere on the canvas to insert additional elements:

Currently the canvas supports the following elements: Text, tasks, milestones, status fields, files and attachments, YouTube videos, emails, tables, polls, and process bars.

All changes made to a canvas are automatically saved in real time, simultaneously updating the view for all team members with access to the ruum.

You can also see who is currently editing a canvas, with live updates and a color coded overview (available by selecting a team member):

Managing Sections

Canvases can be divided into one or more sections, helping you to visually organize your work. In the following screenshot you can see that our example canvas currently has three sections:

To add additional sections to your canvas, click the +Add Section button, and then select from a blank section, a task list section, or to insert a previously created section template:

Existing sections can then be re-ordered, duplicated, used to create a section template, or deleted by clicking the Options button:

Canvas Access

All team members with access to a ruum are able to view the canvas, however only those with admin or editor roles can create and edit its content.
